How do I look up contact information of an employee of Morningstar Air, Aurora Jet Partners and Airside FBO located in Edmonton using Outlook 2010.

All of the contact information is being recording in the new Active Directory system. By using the contacts system with in Outlook it is possible to lookup an employee’s extension, email and mobile number. This FAQ post will explain how to do this.

I am assuming you are using the desktop version of Outlook 2010, connected to the exchange server systems. If you are using Outlook Web Access or another webmail system these instructions will not work.

With Outlook open in either email mode, or contact mode you will need to find and select the Address book icon.

In the default ribbon the icon is normally located in the upper right of the screen.

Double click the Address Book icon to be presented with the Address Book windows. Ensure you have selected the Global Address Book from the available address books, as shown below.

With the Global Address List selected you will now see all contacts currently in the system, please keep in mind this includes , Morningstar Air, Aurora Jet and Airside FBO contacts.

At this point you can search for the person by using the Search field or select the name from the list of contacts below the search field.

By double clicking the name of the record you will be presented with a window containing all the contact information contained in the system.

From the General Tab you can gain most of the information required. Under the Phone field if you see a four digit number this represents an extension number on the phone systems. So long as you are within the Edmonton Head Office, Morningstar Air Calgary and Vancouver Offices, or the Vancouver Aurora Jet locations this 4 digit number will reach the person direct extension.
